Spiritual Life at FIT

JUST A MOMENT: Invitation to devotions & more

Chapel in colourful light

During the lecture period, spiritual life and biblical meditation are fundamental components of FIT's living and learning community. Several times a week, we pause for a moment and reflect on what we hope for in life and death.

All students, faculty and staff members as well as friends of FIT are welcome to attend the devotions and other event formats.

The various forms of pausing and reflecting on God and our faith take place from mid-October to mid-February and mid-April to mid-July as follows:

  • Tuesdays
    - at   9.30 am    Devotion in German
    - at   6.15 pm    Sing-along Devotion:
"Sing along - Share a song"
  • Wednesdays
at 6.15 pm         Devotion / spiritual exercise in English
  • Thursdays
at 6.15 pm         Devotion in English
  • Sundays
at 10.00 am       Service in the St. Peter-Paul Church
(in German; an English translation is available
                               upon prior request).

Please also note the current information, which will be sent to you weekly by email during the semester.

The devotions are usually based on a liturgy in the Evangelical Lutheran tradition, but may be enriched by elements from other traditions. Students and faculty work together in preparing and leading the different types of spiritual life. Your suggestions, comments and new ideas are very welcome. Please contact Prof. Dr. Johannes Weth for more information.

Rooms for prayer and meditation on our campus are also available to you upon request.
