By Air

The nearest airport is Hannover Airport which is a main international airport with regular flights from all over the world. The airport is situated in Langenhagen which is 11 kilometres to the north of Hannover centre and has easy access to the autobahn. Hermannsburg is approximately 70 kilometres from Hannover airport with an estimated driving time of 60 minutes. Hannover airport is also accessible by a combination of trains, buses and taxis. Other options are the international airports of Bremen and Hamburg. 

By Public Transport

Via Deutsche Bahn or Metronom there are connections to the railway stations in Unterlüß or Celle. It is recommended to choose the train station Unterlüß, which is closer to Hermannsburg.

From Unterlüß railway station you can get to Hermannsburg either by bus (line 260; closest bus stop to FIT in Hermannsburg: "Christianschule/FIT" or - if this is not the case - "Sägenförth") or by taxi. You can find the timetable for the line 260 in the box "mobility links").

PLEASE NOTE:

• As you can see from the timetables for bus lines, some bus connections from and to Hermannsburg are only operated as "Bürgerbus" = citizen bus (BB; max. 8 seats) or by "Anruf-Linien-Fahrt" = call line (ALF; telephone registration under 05141 - 2788200 at lest 59 min. before departure required)! Please also note that some buses do not run during school vacations.

• At the station Unterlüß and in Hermannsburg there are usually no taxis waiting; the taxi has to be ordered in advance at the taxi companies in Unterlüß or Hermannsburg. Since in the evening the taxi companies can only be reached very limited by telephone, it is recommended to order the taxi in time and in any case before 6.00 pm.

From Celle train station you can drive

• either by bus to Schlossplatz Celle; from there a bus (line 200) runs to Hermannsburg (bus stop in Hermannsburg: "Christianschule" or - if this is not the case - "Ortsmitte"),
• or by Metronom to Unterlüß and from there by bus, car or taxi to Hermannsburg (see above).

Hermannsburg is also connected via CeBus to Bergen (line 210) and Faßberg/Müden (line 220).

Hermannsburg is 28 kilometres from the nearest autobahn, but is located near the main B3 route which runs from north to south.

Travelling from the north (Hamburg), after leaving the highway A7 at Soltau Süd (45), you take the B3 to Bergen. From there, road signs will direct you to Hermannsburg.

If you drive from Hannover or Brunswick (Braunschweig) to Celle, please stay on the B3 in the dircetion of Soltau/Hamburg. In the village Groß Hehlen, a sign will direct you to Hermannsburg. Follow the L 240 to Hermannsburg.

If you drive on the B4 coming from Gifhorn or Uelzen, once you have arrived in the village Sprakensehl, follow the sign to Unterlüß. In Unterlüß, a sign will direct you to Hermannsburg.
